Hi Guys,
I am having no luck whatsoever connecting.  I think it's a problem with the serial/USB connection to the computer and not the software, as the software keeps telling me that there is no connection detected.

So, if anyone has had this issue or can help me I would be most appreciative.  I am using a 9pin serial to usb converter cable.

Thanks,
Bill

I could certainly use that software as well. Thanks in advance.

Would you mind sending it my way too? I want to try a fresh install on another computer with a different copy of the progs to see if I can eliminate a couple of glitches.
I have both the 2.4.1 setup file and the 2.4.3 program file in a >zipfile,
which I can send you on request (its a little over 2 MB).

There is a piece of info that was missing. First confirm all your serial connection baud/parity etc. Then check the adapter software for your serial USB connection and see if it can even do specific settings to match the radio and if they can be set to match the radio. Also if it is Windows 7 make sure the driver is signed for your serial/usb driver as many are not and win 7 won't load them unless you run it in unsigned driver mode. Next, give it up and buy a serial port card for your newer computer.

Unplug the USB to serial port device from the computer.
Reboot
Open the device manager in the windows control panel.
Plug in the USB device. The device manger will change and create a
listing for the new com port.
If the device manager does not list your device you need to insure that
the driver installed works with your operating system. Win XP, Win Vista
or Win 7.
When the device manager lists your com port note the number of the com
port.

Once you have the com port set up in windows:

Follow the instructions on page 62 of the manual to set up the PC control
port and turn on remote programming.

Now you can start your software to program the radio by simply selecting
the "correct com port" in the software settings/configuration and upload &
download the radio memories and settings.
