You can still use the Uniden BC-245XLT to monitor rebanded Motorola Type II
trunked systems. The only channels the scanner can not track are channels
440 thru 559, which also happen to end in a zero. For example 866.2125 was
reassignment to 851.2125 MHz will work perfectly fine, however a frequency
of 866.1250 that is reassigned to 851.1250 can not be tracked properly.

The trick is to program in the trunked radio system as normal minus the
rebanded frequencies ending in zero. Then in the same bank you program in
the rebanded frequencies which ends in zero to a conventional channel. Here
is an near worst case example.

The Waukesha County Motorola Type II system, has been rebanded as follows:

New Freq Old Freq
Ch 01 - 851.1250 866.1250 *
Ch 02 - 851.2125 866.2125
Ch 03 - 851.7500 866.7500 *
Ch 04 - 852.1125 867.1125
Ch 05 - 852.2625 867.2625
Ch 06 - 852.5375 867.5375
Ch 07 - 852.8000 867.8000 *
Ch 08 - 852.8250 867.8250 *
Ch 09 - 853.1000 868.1000 *
Ch 10 - 853.1375 868.1375
Ch 11 - 853.3500 868.3500 *
Ch 12 - 853.6875 868.6875
Ch 13 - 853.7125 868.7125

Programming the Uniden BC-245XLT on the above rebanded system:

1. Press and Hold TRNK key until display flashes repeatedly.
2. Press the 3 key.
3. Select E2-800 using the Hold or Limit keys.
4. Press E.
5. Enter the follow frequencies (Use Up/Hold key to change channels):

Ch 61 - 851.2125
Ch 62 - 852.1125
Ch 63 - 852.2625
Ch 64 - 852.5375
Ch 65 - 853.1375
Ch 66 - 853.6875
Ch 67 - 853.7125

6. Press TRNK.
7. Enter the following frequency:

Ch 68 - 851.1250
Ch 69 - 851.7500
Ch 70 - 852.8000
Ch 71 - 852.8250
Ch 72 - 853.1000
Ch 73 - 853.3500

8. Press TRNK key.

When you are done, channels 61 thru 67 will show trunk and 68 thru 73 will
not.

On top of this, you can still enter ID's of the areas you want to monitor,
and utilize the ID Scan. Yes, you will hear all traffic on the conventional
channels, which will be outside of your ID preference, but the price is
right.
